Bengaluru police sources revealed that Ragini Dwivedi tampered her dope test by mixing water with her urine sample. A second sample was taken from her by the officials.
Ragini Dwivedi tampered her dope test sample, revealed police sources.
Ragini Dwivedi, who was arrested in the ongoing drug racket on September 4 was made to undergo the dope test at the KC General Hospital in Bengaluru. Sources in police department revealed that Ragini initially tampered the sample. She had mixed water in her urine sample and made it unfit for testing. Ragini Dwivedi was the first actress to be arrested by the Central Crime Branch [CCB] in the Sandalwood drug racket.
However, the police were quick enough to realise that Ragini had tampered the sample. So, she was made to give a second urine sample and this time the police made sure she didn’t tamper it.
“The urine sample was tampered and the doctors immediately caught this. They realised that water was mixed in it. She was then asked to give another sample,” said a police source.
The officials also took hair follicle samples of Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani. Their samples were sent for testing to a lab in Hyderabad. According to police, the specific test can detect if a person had consumed drugs in the last four to five months.
The results of this particular test are likely to give crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.
Earlier, Sanjjanaa Galrani was taken to a hospital for her medical test. She created a ruckus at the hospital citing that she has the fundamental right to say no to the test. She also added that the police are making her a scapegoat and that she has no connection with the drug racket.
Ragini was close to Ravi Shankar, who is one of the accused in the case. Based on a lead from Ravi Shankar, her house was raided and she was taken into custody. Similarly, Sanjjanaa was close friends with Rahul, another accused in the case.
So far, the Bengaluru Crime Branch had arrested seven people including actors Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa. During the investigation, they found out that the peddlers procured drugs from other states.
