Veteran director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao took to Facebook to reveal that he tested positive for the novel coronavirus on September 9. He is currently under home quarantine as per doctor’s advice. In the long video, he said that he has a mild case of Covid-19 and his two-week quarantine period will be ending on September 22. Singeetam Srinivasa Rao said that the doctors took a CT scan since he is 65 years old, and said that he is completely alright.
In the video, Singeetam Srinivasa Rao said that a lot of press people have been calling him for the past couple of days to celebrate his birthday (September 21). He said that he couldn’t pick their calls because he has been under home quarantine since September 9.
Singeetam Srinivasa Rao said that he is isolated in a separate room in his house. His family members offer him food by keeping it at the doorstep of his room. He further added that he been keeping himself occupied by scripting stories and doing other works.
Towards the end of the video, he said that the coronavirus is a serious disease and that everyone should take precaution by wearing maks, sanitising hands and maintaining social distancing. Singeetam Srinivas Rao said that he followed all these rules, yet he contracted the virus.
Singeetam Srinivasa Rao also assured that he is perfectly alright and he is going about his daily work. He is also hoping to recover from the novel coronavirus soon.
Singeetam Srinivasa Rao last directed Welcome Obama, which is the Telugu remake of Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy!. He was last seen in a cameo role in Varun Tej’s Kanche in 2015 .
